Best location for putting a motor together?
I planning on building a d-series and I already know what parts i am going to use and everything but i want to know what is the best location to actually put the motor together. Should i do it inside the garage or a room temperature?
Are things like temp., dust, etc factors on the longivity of the engine. Where did some of u guys put your engines together?
ps. Is there some sort of guide online to generally follow or is helms all i am going to need.
TIA

Temperature is a consideration. The really really pro shops, I've heard of one nissan shop, keeps it's facilities the same temperature (and humidity!) as the nissan factory!
It can throw off tolerance specs, and leads to a phenomenna know as "Stacking" where the tolerance variances are compounded on top of each other...
I think room temperature would be more optimal.
On the other hand, consider that you're not putting together a full race engine (are you?) And that your setup doesn't need to be dead dead on.

You just answered your own question.

I would recommend a climate controlled shop that's very clean with very little dust. Also make sure that whatever you set the parts on before putting them in the engine is lint free and clean.
well my room is dusty as hell and the garage is out of the question. I don't think i can get past putting in new pistons without rehoning. oh well i guess i will just go to a shop and get a quote.
Do some shops let u rent their space to put together and engine yourself?

Yes, rehone the cylinders before putting it back together. And here's a thought, get someone else to put the engine together so that if something goes wrong, you can blame it on them and then they'll have to pay for it.
