Default Question on scatter shield or transmission blanket

I know Deist makes a transmission blanket for the hondas, but can the blanket be a replacement for the scatter shield? I would also think it would be lighter than the scatter shield?

Thanks..

Scatter sheilds arent that heavy, and those deist blankets arent that light. **** a blanket, get a scatter sheild..

Even if it weights less than 1lb. I would get it. When you add up every pound counts. Learned that from Tony.

You maybe just slightly heavier than me, but you have a lighter car to start off with. I have a pig integra. My goal is 2450 with me in it. I'm in it to win it..

I'll take a blanket over a 1.5" wide shield ANY day!!!!!

Lucky, few on here have seen what happens when a clutch EXPLODES!!!!!

a clutch spinning at over 9.5krpm cant do that much damage. I just heard from a reliable source that the blanket is heavier, but I would still like to weigh it to find out for sure..

very little damage.........MY ***!!!!!!!!!

Local guy at one of our Import Events,

Hood, windshield, not to mention the tranny and engine!!!!!!

Art, I'd take the extra 5 lbs for a blanket, and toes, fingers etc.

One clutch explosion is all it took Don Garlits to change to the now standard rear engine rail dragsters.

I have a deist blanket. The weight is slightly less then a standard scattershield.
HOWEVER, the fitment is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I as with turboR and a few others all have bad problems with the fitment. The straps do not fit correctly and tend to come loose. I'm actually thinking about sewing some extensions on the straps to make it fit better. Plus I hate how the blanket fits over the VSS and starter area.

Oh yeah the price is $279 (black) to $319+ for other colors last I checked.

Personally I would go with a standard metal setup since its less hassle. I'd rather worry about other things the the blanket coming loose, etc...

My goal is 2500, so you will prolly be lighter then me. I like to make my car heavy.
My car weighed 2450 when i ran my 10.5, and i need more safety equipment.

I have a blanket and it fits pretty good. Took a while to fit it right but it's worth it. The only things are covered up is the starter and the slave cylinder. Blanket hooks need to be drilled larger in order to use stock tranny bolts.
