I decided that ours were dark also, and I want a good backlit face so... I'm not going with the jdm cluster, and try and pick up a 94-01 teg gsr cluster or type r one, but don't really matter to me jdm or not. They have a good look at night, and make all bulbs red mmmm very nice.

I changed 3 of the 194 bulbs in the back and it was a lot brighter but the problem is that the cluster uses more than just 3 bulbs like the Integra so it appeared like bright spots on the cluster. There are many small ones that I do not know the size of.

I just took off the orangish/amber colored plastic piece on the top of the cluster and it made a big difference, here take a look:

If your going to take the amber plate off you should try to take out the bulbs and just pull the amber coating off thats on the bulb itself.

It's like a little rubber condom thats on the bulb, just roll off.

to put it very simply........yes, the white light that is output by those is a decent color and would look nice in a CRX cluster

you will be highly dissappointed in LED's the light dispertion patterns are not the same as a incandescent lamp. THis was done last year on a Mercedes board I belong to and the results are NOT like you are hoping for.
