Thieves broke into my garage and tried to steal my R
i guess they might have done it either last night or early this mornin.. went to the garage to check up on things and found that my door lock has been ripped apart. Looked like someone used a crowbar to yank it opened took almost the whole door off. I guess they thought twice in touching the car since 1.) alarm is still on 2.)the car is clubbed 3.) garage "big door" had pad locks on them. ******* thieves took my damn tool set.. asses!!! Now i freakn need to buy a new garage door n MORE LOCKS!!
video cameras are pretty cheap now days.. we have some in our shop and garage.. and a good handgun would come in handy too

That would suck ***. Getting robbed with your own tools.
Good to hear you still have it though. Up your security measures.

1. get a new door with a stronger **** w/ dual pad locks
2. get another lock for reinforcement for the door (which means my door will have not one but TWO locks (key ones)
3. install a really huge *** freakn light post/lamp stand by the door or somewhere mounted where it illuminates the garage door from 5pm all the way to 6am.
4. install a freakn fuel/starter kill switch (keep the alarm n the club on always folks no matter where u go, grocery, atm,.. etc. etc.)
5. either install a spare car alarm by the door with sensors so if the garage door is opened without disarming sirens should be goin off from the roof (sounds crazy but i freakn mean it, its just ridiculous what i have to put up with)
Now, analyzed everything..i dont think they intentionally just wanted my tools, for one they seemed to have proceeded with their lil scheme quickly, buster the door n locks but can't turn the light one, Y? since the light is connected to the garage opener and when you turn it on, it will try to open the main door n make a loud noise(however mind you that the garage main door is padlocked on both sides so that regardless of how hard you try to lift the **** out of the door you will never be able to take the vehicle out of the garage) reason why i did dat is because last year someone forced the main door to open from the outside and basically destroyed the automatic opener, which i thought was unforutnate, however doing it manually n locking them constantly has made me realize it was better this way, since i would know if it was securely closed and no one will be able to lift it from the outside. Something i suggest individuals should do. again i had the car armed and clubbed..ALWAYS, something you should definitely do for you R owners out there. I know it sounds ridiculous to go through all of these process but if you want ur R to be there then its well worth it. Especially if that R has a jdm front end!!! I will probably pick up a new garage side door tomorrow n reattach new locks on to them as well. As far as the tools go, they were next to the car but since they couldn't see a damn thing, their only chance was to pick up the tool box next to it. Surprisingly they didn't take any spare parts i had in the garage. Chicago isn't the safest city but i thought my neighborhood would atleast be.. but i guess i've been proven wrong.

I'm just saying that because my friend's garage was broken into when she was gone and inside her garage was a CBR and her car (with the windows down and doors unlocked). Only tools and other small stuff were taken. Nothing inside her car was taken despite her stereo and a few other valuables inside the car.
But with that said, it's better to be paranoid.
