Default just got an idea! (NEWB alert)

Okay, I've recently installed my aem CAI on my 00' si, and i was wondering... Those 2 plastic pieces on each side of the bumper wear fog lights look like they should be (lol)......... It looks like the filter would be right behind one of them... is it possible (or would it even be a good idea?) to remove one of them to get more cool air?

Also, how would i do this?

Thanks in advance.

It's not reversable... unless you put mount some other piece of plastic over it if you change your mind. I've had mine cut for years
