Turbo car Gearing? I can't cruise on the highway, im at 5,500rpm in 5th@80mph?
Is there a trans that will bring that down? and does anyone know what trans that is that would make my car run like that? The car is a b16 with a Drag kit in an 3k, not sure on the trans, someone said it was a type r trans. I had a gsr before and it would be at 4,000 rpm at 80 mph in 5th
Sounds to me like you have an SI tranny, but I could be mistaken. Type-R, GSR, and LS should never be that high of an rpm unless you have 15" rims with something like 205X30's on them. I'd definately have someone look at the tranny for you.

my h22 w/f22 trans is around 3200rpm at 80mph. You think its hard not to speed in any of the B series, try droning along just barely off-idle...lol. BTW, 60mph is around 2200 rpm...lol
205/50/15s
*edit* WAS that stuff up above before I blew the **** out of it

I was running a B16 cable trans (non-LSD) on my old setup and was at 4,400 at 70mph with 17's. I would say go witht he LS 5th.

My ITR tranny setup had a 4.785 FD. When I was at 70mph I was around 4.1k. Thats with 16 inch rota circuit 8's aswell. Its very easy to stay around the speed limit with a high FD.

Generally speaking yes it is better. Once you can actually learn how to optimize each gear, then you will see how much more potential there is out there other than an LS tranny. Imagine every gear pulling like 1st and 2nd....................

Ummmmmm, no. This has been discussed countless times on here. If you want the fastest 1360 possible, then the ls isnt for you.
ls - ggod - maybe its nice for cruising
gsr - better - good compromise between ls and itr
itr/si - best - a blast to drive and ripps
custom gearing (itr tranny w/ ls fifth) is truly the best of both worlds but i have never driven one. My itr tranny is at 4250 @ 80mph.

Who said anything about me running the fastest 1320? I run mostly on the street/interstate.
The SI tranny is garbage.........gears are wayyyyy too close, you have to shift wayyyyy too fast, synchros go out like light bulbs .....................need I go on?
