Is it possible to take double overhead cams from a d16a5 integra motor and put them in place of the single cam on my d16y8, and is this d16a5 any good?

 

??? you need the whole head not just the cams. No you cant put it on a Y8 block you need a A1, A5, ZC block. anyway you'd loose HP with a ZC head

 

i actually seen a 91 CRX with a A6 bottom end and an 89 integra DOHC head at Palmdale. It looked kinda crazy and no it wasnt fast at all. In fact it was just about equal with the SOHC's that were running. Obviously not worth the work.

 

IMO the 8/1 compression would be good, but please.... That isn't the question...

One benifit would be that you could use the A1 intake manifold and I believe the ZC DOHC motor have a slightly larger valve too. The A1 Intake manifold ownz the other SOHC ones...

I looked into it for a long time to never get an answer... I even had it in my sig. for little while...

18psi daily on pump gas sound good ??? So does 8/1 compression...

BTW I have 8.5/1 compression and even the IC pipe comes off the car isn't like impossible to drive... It feels the same as the 9/1....

People shoot down the low compression even though they've never used/tried it..
Its kinda like saying "tennis is gay" without ever played it ( its actully kinda hard ).

Because compression makes power--simple as that. Take a d16a6, make it 10:1 and tell me that you can't notice a huge difference...
