Default Short plastic/rubber antenna?

My g/f went through a carwash with her antenna up a while ago, and I still haven't gotten around to fixing it. Today I was following another Accord (same year - 1994), and noticed that instead of the powered (telescope) antenna, he had a short plastic/rubber one, the same kind that come on vw's.

Any idea where I could get her one of these?

don't use the s2000 antenna, on the 5th gen, it looks like a nub sticking off the side of the car (no offense, it just does?). I durno why, I guess because it's not on a flat surface like on other cars.....but it looks really funny. I can't say anything for the other ones? You may wish to just get an "invisible" antenna from radio shack for the rear window.

The old (broken) antenna is still in there, I never took it out. How would I attach the new rubber one, and will I have to remove the broken one first?

Also, does it have to be removed when the car goes through a carwash? Wouldn't want her to do it again...

My roommate has a stock one on his VW, and it works great. In fact, it gets better reception than my old civic or her accord ever did.

I'm going to get one today, but still need to know how it installs into the place of the current (broken) one. Any ideas people?

You have to remove the old one first, unless you want one broken one and a new one elsewhere... Just pull the old one out, put the new one in after attaching the cable. Very easy.

The S2K antenna is not bad. I have one on my Spyder and it works as good as the stock antenna did. RadioShack used to sell one that looked similar, but was somewhat longer. But I've heard that they don't sell it any more. Either can be run thru the car wash without any problem.

Excellent, just what I needed to know. I'll pick one up tonight or tomorrow and post pics when I'm done.

Well, I installed a $10 antenna from Kragen tonight. It works pretty well, but it does look kind of goofy because it's pointing sideways. I tried different ways of mounting it, but it still points sideways at about 15 degree angle.

She doesn't want to buy a new power antenna, so I guess this will have to do for now. If anyone knows of a specific brand/type of antenna that doesn't stick sideways, please let me know.

I also have a short black rubber antenna, but I got mine off ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=1498 They make them for all years and models, I have one and it looks and works great, and the easiest thing to install i've ever done.
