Question for the people that race their integra's
Wassup Peeps
I got a 95 gsr. I only ran it once at sac. raceway but my best time was 15.6 at a 90+ degree weather. Besides the reaction time and 60 ft speeds, my question is, do you guys get better times by leaving your foot on the gas and shifting? or by regular shifting? thanks

1-2 and 3-4 shifts are a possibility, but i would never try it on the 2-3 or 4-5 shifts.

ussually they miss 3rd gear (power gear)

i do this on occasion. But i can never get the 1-2 shift. I have no problem with the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. Ill just have too practice more often. But it never sounds good to bang of the rev limiter like you gotta 2 step(haha)
Thats basically all there is to drag racing, launch according to your tire pressure, tire size, tire compound, and shift as fast and hard as you can.
Don't just try to get a fast 60ft time, try to be going fast by the time you hit the 60ft marker. Hlaf the battle is in that damn 60 ft., the rest is just fast shifting.

i wasn't referring to clutchless shifts, but instead leaving your foot on the gas, popping the clutch, and shifting.
I got my 14.97 shifting normally, just very fast. I MIGHT try powershifting 3-4 next time at the track, but I dunno...
Thats just retarted! Shift fast don't get lazy and keep your foot on the gas - won't do you any good...
"y0 I chirped 3rd gear!"

I used to drag race my integra ALOT and I definitely got faster times keeping the gas in (just a 'bit' faster, it was obvious)... and this became a good "skill" for me when I eventually turbocharged, allowing me to keep the turbo spool to the max.
If you do it right, the shifts are very fast, clean, and the car has no hesitations. (Every millisecond counts in drag racing doesn't it?)
Good luck and don't accidentally do a 3rd into 2nd with this technique....

I don't think this will yield any better times unless you are not a very fast shifter. I don't think JO JO or Lisa powershift either. I don't really see the point if you can shift fast
. I ran my 14.95 with regular "fast" shifting

i may be wrong, but won't that result in a long, unnecessary chirp?

I was thinking the same thing, because when i did this in my b18c1 from - the chirp was too long but in my friends 03 civic ex it barely even spun the tires......so i guess cars with more hp shouldnt do it ........either burns the clutch or spins the tires.
i dont leave on the gas either, i can shift quick enuff where you cant even tell im shifting , its all in practice man .
I dont do it often but sometimes at the track I do 3-4 shift at 8k without lifting off WOT and im in 4th gear before I hit the revlimiter. Im going to try and get a video of my shifting and get it online. I didnt see any noticeable gains from it, maybe 5 hundreths at most.
