Where is the best place to get an H22 engine with low miles?
Also how can you really tell when your getting one with low miles? I mean people can have vehicles they buy brand new. Then put 200,000 miles on the car and never put them in a shop or anything. Do all the work on it themselve.
So then noone has any records of the mileage and then they roll them back to 60,000 and sell the car or the motor out of it and tell the buyer it only has 60,000?

jdmhondaparts.com has one on special right now
if you're referring to USDM H22 every smog check documents your mileage
a carfax report will show you the mileage from every smog check so if its rolled back you can tell

But if they never take anywhere to be reported you cant tell how many miles are on it. If they do all the work thereselves noone can tell how many miles are on it.
Like if they bought it brand new in 2000 then put 12000 miles on it and now its 2003 and they roll it back and noone has seen or been told the mileage because they have done all the work on it there selves.

if ur that worried about it buy a brand new car or one that has a history of smog checks/repairs, its not like theres a tamperproof odometer in the engine for u to look at

just buy a used motor, do a compression check before buying. if everything checks out and compression is good, it shouldn't really matter the miles. if you're going to turbo it with stock internals, then thats a different story.
anywhere but eBay....best advice is to go local, so you can inspect the motor before you buy, do things like inspect the sensors, manually crank over the motor to make sure it's no siezed, pull the head off, inspect the valve train...etc, etc

Find a junked Prelude with low miles on it and swap the motor, that's the only way to ensure that it has the indicated mileage. Or you can buy a Carfax account and run the motor's VIN. A lot of private parties and shops these days underreport the motor's 'true' mileage.
I got my H22 from http://www.hmotorsonline.com . They offered me good customer service.
