Default Bumping redline and internal mods in

OK, about to embark on a project of building up my B18C1. All I have is AEM CAI and skunk cat back right now, but looking to make some all motor power. Probably going to go with cams, cam gears, valve springs and retainers. With these mods, would I be able to rev past 8K? And if I could, what kind of ECU do I need to do it. Possibly a OBD1 ECU & harness? Hondata come into play?

Thanks!

Your B18C1 already has red line of 8100. But w/ those parts, you'll have no problem reving past 8100. How much more depends on the ECU and tuning.

What sort of an ECU do I need? Any specifications or types?

I have Hondata, but I'm sure any aftermarket one would be fine. With Hondata, you can adjust it during tuning. Not sure if other aftermarket one will let you or not.

Hondata is an ECU? I heard that I need to convert from OBDIIb to OBD1.

Yes, it needs to be ODB-I. Hondata is a chip that goes into your ECU.

What kind of cams? Skunk2 Stage 2, Toda Spec B, EF1 M22/3s, JUN IIIs?

Hondata is NOT an ECU. It is NOT a stand alone. It's a piggy back based map unit that works in conjunction with the ECU.

There are 2 version we normally run on our cars. S100 and S200.
S100 is a chipped ECU with limited tuning capabilities.
S200 is a socketed ECU with piggyback control box, and full tuning capabilities.

I recommend a Kenji Spec/chipped ECU (baseline map) with Hondata (tuning).
