Type R are for high boost application, it does have a larger valve diameter but still uses a push valve system. They sounded like a chirping bird..pretty mean sounding...

The Greddy Type R spring is pretty stiff and will cause a lot of compressor surge at lower boost levels. It tends to only open up when there is a lot pressure in the piping. Go with a ssbov from HKS or a type S if you are only going to be running 7psi.

I've seen this bov work great on a supra running 7lbs of boost during break-in.

Mase - I had a type S set stiff and once I started to pass 16 psi it would leak...

it made a weird woosh noise (like a charge pipe blowing off) and boost would drop, then it would stop and boost climbed back up like normal, and then it would repeat.. took me a while to figure it out... I guess the piston was just getting pushed open...

it did work good for lower boost
