Default Type R springs and shocks.

Someone is selling me a set of ITR springs from $100. Is this a good deal?
My question is do I need to upgrade my factory shocks too? Is there a signifcant difference, if any, between ITR and GSR shocks?
TIA

pretty good deal.
I personalyl thinkt he shocks are abetter upgrade then the springs.
but the shocks and springs together will make the most of a cheap mod.

$100 is okay, not great, but good if they are pretty new.... define 'new' yourself, I dunno what that really means in details...

The rear shocks on the ITR require the ITR lower control arm as they bolt up differently that the GSR shocks. So if you got the ITR springs and shocks, you also need the ITR LCAs.

HTH.

Thanks everyone. So if I use my oem gsr shocks, will it be okay? Meaning, will it negate any advantages offered by the ITR springs?

The ITR springs should drop the car a bit, maybe 1/2" and should have stiffer spring rates than the GSR.

I don't think the change would be THAT dramatic, but it will be a slightly better setup...

If you are taking the springs off, then why take the shocks and springs off again to upgrade the shocks later?

Buy some KYB or whatever you can afford and do it right the first time, FWIW.

funny u should mention this....i just did it. the ITR springs dont work that well with the gsr shocks...way to "mushy". i highly recommend you get the shocks and the rear lower control arms. 100 is a good deal. i got brand new springs, brand new LCA's still in plastic and slightly used shocks for 450.00 this set up in my opinon in awsome. while your at it change the suspension bushings and get the ITR rear sway bar.
