Default Will p30 ecu work the same as a p28?

I'm putting in a slightly modded b16 into my 94 civic DX and I've got a p30 ecu. Will this work the same, i.e. plug and play as a p28? I want to go hondata and I was under the impression I needed a p28 to work with my existing wiring only adding VTEC to the car harness. Sorry if I'm confusing, I'm very tired.

p30 = delsol vtec.
this ecu is better than a chipped p28, worth more too.

P30 has factory knock control, P28 don't

just a little note. knock sensor is good for turbo. so you go ahead and get a chipped p28 just so you dont have to run one little wire and then go turbo adn see what happens. knock sensor helps against detonation. when you do a swap hook everything up dont be a half ***

Couldnt state it any better...to answer your question though...the p30 ecu would be perfect to run on your swap. ALso, if you wanted to go hondata in the future, you could use the p30..you dont HAVE TO use the p28. Chipped p28's are only beneficial if your motor is semi built-to-built... If its pretty much stock, then most of the time, you'll lose power w/ a chipped ecu. Anyways..keep the p30!

I'm not boosting. It's a b16 with JUN 3, p&p and milled head, with a stock bottom end. I was kinda planning on running a p28 Hondata base map until I can get my car tuned. Would it be OK to run the stock p30 for now and get the p28 with Hondata later? I figured I could sell the p30 for what I can buy a p28 and s200. I don't really know for sure.

Would the p30 sell for enough to fund a p28 and s200?

No my guess is that you could get around 175 for the p30. S200 is about 245 and p28 100-125. I would personally just keep the P30 and run the hondata off of that you have it and know it works.

In the meantime, you could get a custom chip for the P30, until you save up for hondata and all the tuning hourse required.

Just make sure you go with a tuner that knows his ****, and can actually tune for the cam specs.

I can reccomend someone if ya PM me.

I have a P30 on my 1.6 DOHC 00 Si motor with a Skunk2 Conversion Harness. Works great. Stay with the P30 . I have seen P30's going for up to $250.
