push your intake all the way up your throttle body... or the filter or something... theres some kind of resistance inside the intake pipe...

They all whistle. Even at idle. Either get used to it or put the stock intake back on.

EDIT: All D series motors that I have had contact with is what I mean...sorry guys.

depends on filter and pipe shape/diamater. Ur the first person i've ever heard complain of the whistle. Take it off. I hate that deep intake sound anyways. Goes hand in hand w/ slow cars.

Once the filter is properly worn in - i.e., dirty. It should not whisle as much... But it is some that comes with installing an after market intake.

Adjust the idle screw for more air. I think its counter clockwise but dont unscrew it all the way. Sometimes it helps. No more whistling for me.

Whistle on a B18B1 with SR and K&N filter. It still whistled with a CAI, so go figure, one thing though the more dirty it got the louder the whistle. If A.C is on it whistles more, even fooled one person after a quick jaunt "Hey is that a turbo spoolin in there"

My LS hatch w/ CAI and my wife's GS-R w/ CAI both squeek at partial throttle...live with it.

Didn't have whistle, but I was pulling the distributor cap off an almost no miles 92' B18A motor i bought a while ago, put the new cap on my dizz, put intake back on & heard not a whistle, but a DEEP sound like when you blow into an empty glass bottle... just drove the car around the neighborhood & eventually went away...

This might help. Step 1. Get yourself about half a sleeve of Saltines and crush them up in the wrapper. Step 2. Start your car. Step 3. Empty contents of wrapper onto exposed air filter. (works on annoying co-workers)

its the same principal as port noise in a speaker box. if there is not a rounded lip when the air is coming in its gonna whistle, its the sharpness of the tube thats causing the whistle. if theres any way to flare the end out the noise should go away. unfortunately itll be hard to get the end of the tube back into the filter.

Childhood problems? Adjusting the idle screw wont mess with "your perfect idle". After you reset the ecu the motor will adjust and idle the same. The screw just opens up a passage in the TB for slightly more air flow. Like when you change the size of your lips when you whistle sometimes it wont whistle. I was suggesting doing this cause it helps some cars get rid of the whistle. It doesnt hurt anything. Only thing it will hurt is your feelings towards gays in biker shorts.

Yes, Many

If it does nothing to the idle, why is it called an "Idle Adjustment Screw"

Hey thats mean. I'm cool with gays in biker shorts, I just don't like gays that cry over their autozone intake making too much noise. I'm not knocking you for giving advice, I just wanna know why you guys are so sensitive. Are your girlfriends/moms complaining about the noise?? Why buy an intake then bitch when it makes the noise its supposed to?

Try the screw and when putting the intake in make sure it's all flush and tight
