pics!! HID kit on lude, got question.
I just installed philips 6000k ultinon kit on my 99 lude.
does anyone have HID kit on your lude?
I have a question...how did you guys fit the h1 bulb?
here's the pic.

the clip doesn't hold the bulb, it holds the socket(#2 in pic)
but my kit didn't come with the socket.
did your kit come with the socket that fits with the HID bulb?
if it didn't, how did u install it?
here's the rest of pics.

thanks

you pull the OEM bulb out the socket stick the HID bulb in the socket, the hid bulb is too long so you have to push the reflector forward a bit, then you can use the clip to hold the bulb in place.
Thats if your kit is plug and play(should be)

Is there a prelude-specific write-up on retrofitting projectors to our normal reflectors e.t.c? Just noticed that alot of the guys that have these just don't share their knowledge too much
If there is a write-up on this somewhere, then kudos

I will never understand how people actually buy those "HID" bulbs Ebay is littered with. We all know HID's are just a different type of bulb..... Rrrriiiiiiiiiiiight

I have the same kit as you! To install it correctly you have to hollow out the stock socket (#2) in the diagram. I used a dremel tool to hollow it out. Its not 100% plug in play, but thats the only thing you have to do! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!

There are NOT a lot of us with these, and yes, there is information about doing it. It's not so much a write up, but it is information about doing it from the person who did this custom job for us. We don't "share our knowledge" because 99% of us didn't do the install. I know of less than 5 people who have actually done this themselves. Here is the link to the faq, written by the guy that did the majority of the installs: http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/

do you have pictures of your hids on your 4th gen prelude? i was going to do it but i haven't found any cool projector headlights for mine... i don't like the projectors that look too aftermarkety...
If you would do this kind of conversion in Europe - just putting hid bulbs into classical headlights - you may be sure the police will stop you and you'll have a lot of problems. It is forbidden to have a hid headlights without leveling and self-washing system.
