Is transmission swap realiable? Any one got any problems?
I'm going to do auto to 5 speed swap, but some of my friends said it is not realiable after it. However, they didn't say how non-realiable is that. So, do anyone knows more about it? or even you are facing the problems with this swap?
As long as everything is done RIGHTand the parts are GOOD, it'll be just as reliable as an original manual tranny car.
Now if you do it half-assed (i.e., hardware not torqued correctly, clearances and tolerances off, and general redneck-drunkenness-throw-together), it's gonna be crap.

You're going to be using OEM parts and you're going to install everything to OEM spec. Cant get any more reliable as OEM.
the only issues which may lie would be with attaching the clutch pedal to the firewall and wiring up the reverse lights. some shops/people can **** those things up. other than that like already mentioned your just using OEM parts, but if your using used stuff you could get some bad stuff.
