Launching on Slicks
Ok i got some m&h slicks, and i re-adjusted my hand brake for my rsx type-s. I rev to 7000 and drop with the hand brake up, and i still slide forward(the rear tires are locked but still slide). What can I do to stay in one spot and create some white smoke?
peace out

Hi ArcblursxtypeS, and you guy's listen what I have to say, try this one time for me, do a first gear burn out or a second gear burn out you just might be surprised what a short burn out will do for you, unless the track is cold like 60 degrees try it you might like it. Here is what I would do, roll up to the water box just to get the tiger paws wet then roll out about a foot then pull up the E-brake start your burn out when you feel the car trying to pull foreward hold it for one more second and then pull up to the line, try to stage fast because the temp drops fast on the slicks. M&H slicks do not req alot of heat, so give it a try you just might like it.
Thanks for listens

Hey John! This is Mike, the guy who works for just tires, remember? Ya, i finally got the whole thing going here(arp extended studs, spacers, etc..) I tried launching today in a parking lot with the slicks(at my work), and i just couldnt get them spining enough. I did see just a tad bit of white smoke, but not a whole lot of it. I will be heading to LACR tomorrow night, so any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks John. Glad to see your still reading honda-tech

No, im just going there to practice before Famoso Re-opens in late winter. This will be my first time at the track with my new setup and slicks. LACR isnt really considered a real track, just a learning track for me

Well the only way for me to warm them up is the 2nd gear burnout. 1st gear isn't working for me

Glad to hear it worked but I was also going to add that a parking lot is a whole lot different than a waterbox.

Agreed.. Is the car dragging the back tires along or is it turning them through the brakes..

2nd gear burnouts aren't hard on parts when you start the burnout with the tires wet. Wet slicks = no traction. I seriously think you cause more stress trying to do a 1st gear burnout on dry pavement.
