Default A good brake question

Somebody please tell me the truth. If your accord has drum brakes do you ever have to adjust them manually or do they self adjust when backing up or by pulling the emergency brake. I have a 98 accord 4-cyl. Thanks.

Default Re: A good brake question (Elvis1977)

My 91accord self adjusted by pumping the brake pedal. After i changed the brake shoes I adjusted them by hand as much as a could and put the drum back on. After that I a pumped the brakes about 15-20 times. You could hear a clicking sound as they adjusting themselves outward. So to answer your question you should not have to do anything special. Just drive normal.
