Default Newbi just crashed my Si - help me please

Hi,

Basically ive just crashed my 1995 integra si vtec (gs-r) and the parts that ive broken are the driveshaft, upper arm, lower arm, track rod end and idler link.
All of these parts are on the same n/s front (passenger side for UK cars and driver side for US cars).

The question i got is 'are there any parts that i have listed above that are interchangable with any other honda cars'

for example are there any ITR or civic parts that will fit my integra because i do need my car fixed rather quickly

Also im looking to buy ITR dampers and springs for my Integra and I just wanted to makesure that they are a complete bolt on part because my mechanic is talking about some sort of fork coming out of the bottom of the damper whereas I thought it was a cup that held the damper in

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

For your car the 92-95 civic suspension is almost exackly the same. The upper a-arms are the same, the lower onse are a little complicated. The intagras come with front sway bars so the lower Teg a-arms are have mounting holes for the sway bars. Most of the 92-95 civics don't have sway bars hence the a-arms dont have mounting holes, only the Si(SiR in the UK i think) has sway bars and the correct lower a-arms. And yes the shocks(dampners) do have forks mounted on the buttom, those forks u can get from the above mentioned civic or maybe the EK civics too(not sure). I wish some one would double check my info. good luck

Same suspension as the integra LS of the same generation, right? Except for sway bar thicknesses?

yeah, like everyone says, the 92-95 civic and any US/JDM/euro DC (94-01) integra suspension parts are fuly compatible with your Si. The only thing you need to watch out for in the rear suspension is the rear lower control arm design and shock's bottom design.

Most 93.5-01 JDM integra rear suspension use the 'box' type LCA and shock that fits into it:

The other type is the 'fork' type shock & LCA which all 94-01 US integra's have, except ITR model which use box type LCA's.
(just made this image today =D)

Whichever one you go with, make sure you have the respective shock & LCA to compliment each other, other wise mixing up the 2 types will result in ill-compatible rear suspension parts.

I'm not sure what Euro integra's use, such as yours......can you enlighten me ?

Ok so let me get this straight.

If I have the LCA like the first picture (top) then the ITR damper unit will fit no problems BUT if my control arm is like that on the second picture then I have a problem.

My integra is from japan - its a japanese import so it should have the first photo type LCA. If that is the case then what the hell is my mechanic erferring to when he says that I will need a new 'fork' for my suspension???

Any help once again would be nice

Oh yeah and The driveshaft from a civic 92-95 will defintely fit right??? Does it matter which engined civic or does it have to be a B16 engine???

Thanks

-- yes, your Japanese integra should have the 'box type' LCA and corresponding shocks (with round bottom - not fork style botton as seen in the 2nd diagram). Your mechanic could be referring to your front drop forks (the forks where the bottom of the front shocks rest in).

-- As long as the alxes are for a B16 engine (B-series axles), you should be fine

Thanks

Ok Katman Im sorry if this getting repetetive but I must be sure about what im buying before I buy it just incase it doesnt fit - im lumberedwith that part.

Can I pick up the front drop forks from and ITR. Come to think of it can I pick up the track rod end, knuckle and idler link from an ITR

I dunno if you know what the idler link is - apparently its a link between the steering rack and something else - maybe you could shed some light on this?!

Basically tommorow i am going to pick up a upper and lower arm from an ITR and if the above parts will bolt on to my car then I will only need just the driveshaft itself from a 8-10 year old civic!!!

Thanks if you can help me!!
Anyone else is also welcome to answer if they know!!
cheers

-- the front drop forks for ALL DC integra's (regular models & type-r) and EG civic are the same and are totally interchangeable/compatible between DC & EG's.

-- yes, the upper and lower control arms from a 92-95 cvic will work on your integra.

Sorry maybe I didnt make myself clear

I want to buy the majority of parts from the ITR because its a newer model and i dont want too many old parts (such as a 10 year old driveshaft from a civic!!!) lying around my car just cos theyre rusty and old etc.
So basically I wanted to know if the Track Rod End, Knuckle and fork could be bought from an ITR.

Now youve said that the fork CAN be bought from ITR so it just remains to ask about the other two parts!

BTW this is a 1999 JDM spec ITR id be getting the parts from - i dont think it would make any difference whatsoever

Thanks
