i used ringed layers of electrical tape instead of the rings. the rings from skunk2 were too thick to use, even lubed they wouldn't let the sleeve slide over. the electrical tape gave me the exact thickness i needed and a bigger contact area too.

Every set of coilovers I've ever installed I have used electrical tape to build the o-ring and not the rubber one that comes with.

Electrical tape is the ticket because you can get it just a little too thick and then it will compress enough to get the collar over. Which makes for a nice snug fit of the collar on the shock body.
