Default greddy blue box question with fuel management

Well that's it, I will be boosting this winter after almost two year of reading here and there but mostly on this board. First of Thanx to all for the support, infos and realy great knowledge.

One thing need to get corrected though, I got the greddy blue box, is it safe to use it in conjonction with a Vortec FMU ( 10:1 ) and msd6 btm to boost at around 7-8 psi.
It's going on a JDM d15b with stock injector.
The bottom end is stock for now but will shurely be upgreaded in the near futur, that is why i'm looking toward more boost in the futur.

the blue box does not retard timming-- ence the btm

I will be running a gsr fuel pump on the d15b with 6an SS braided line.

Shurely, I don't have any more money to put in a stand alone but I will do it someday.

I searched a lot on here but can't seem's to find a satisfing answer.
Thx a lot guy.

The Greddy blue box is calibrated around 310cc injectors. The blue box is an FMU alternative. Ie, when you run the blue box, you typically do not run an FMU. Running them together will most likely make your engine run incredibly rich.

If you're on a budget and only have stock injectors, stick to the FMU with a 12:1 disk and limit the boost to about 5 psi. You MUST have an inline fuel pump to run a 12:1 FMU.

Your other option is to use the blue box with some 310cc injectors and limit yourself to about 8 psi of boost. People have gotten away with more boost on the blue box, but there are a large number of people that have popped their motors with more than 8 psi.

IMO, the best option would be to sell both of those devices, get some big injectors (450cc+) and run something like the VAFC hack or the SMC+.

Thx sonny,

Well I read on the board that a guy made his homework on the blue box, he said that the blue box only work on idle, making the car idling at an a/f ratio that is correct, as soon as the driver mash the pedal, it's the original setting of the ecu that goes over it all the blue box does is lenghtening the pulse of the injector and intercepting the map sensor...
I found interesting info on this but running short on Pesos this time ( with all the kit requirement ... ) Will I be ok with the GSR pump / stock injector / msd btm at 7 pound??

Your mileage may vary, but we've been using the blue box on my friend's homemade SOHC setup and it seems to be working pretty well, we're boosting around 7lbs I think. Haven't hooked a wideband up to it, but our cheap a/f gauge is pegged in rich under full throttle. Runs fine and NO hint of detonation - he drives the **** out of that car too. Picked it up on ebay for around $50 I think.

I'm not pushing the blue box, just echoing my experience with it. I'm personally gonna go with uberdata and a romulator

Hey I think I'm the guy that did his homework hehe . I've had my car up to 10 psi before. No detonation but that was just for a short while. I would recomend the 7-8 pound range for the blue box with 310's. Vortec is a great way to go too. Just remember that you need to somehow block a positive MAP signal via check valves or a missing link. The blue box will do that for you.

i thought the blue box was mainly used to keep the check engine light from coming
on when you hit boost? i thought it was pretty much like a missing link, just a bunch of wires with the blue box.

it does that but it also lengten the pulse of the injector.
thx for all the good replie...
I may get a look at uberdata chip and the romulator package, seem's to be an economic solution for boost...
keep posting your experience with the bleu box ( see it write blew box a couple of time that dosn't secure me very much about it.... )

thx a lot guy's
