Default Swaps for Auto 98 Ex

Out of curiousity, what kind of swaps are available with a auto tranny for a 98 Ex? And let me make this clear so no one tries to tell me otherwise. This is for my gf's car, she does not know stick and will not learn so I want to see what options I have besides FI on her SOHC. Thanks in advance.

tell her to suck it up and learn how to drive stick, honda automatics are SLUSHBOXES.

there are automatic b16's and very rare automatic GSR's but i dont know anywhere that would reguarly stock those.

I dropped an automatic b16a into a 93 sedan for a customer. It worked but I really don't think it was worth the money he had to spend to get the motor. He now wrecked the car and wants it swapped over to a 96+ hatch but I have yet to work on it. Basically you can get it to fit buit it might notbe 100% bolt in unless you can get auto b-series ek mounts. You could probably use a combination of automatic ls teg mounts and the stock ek auto mounts. If you want I'll post up what I plan on using.

That's great info Hybrid_KJ, any idea of how much this would run me in just parts? I'm keeping this idea on the back burner but it would be great to have for reference. Thanks for the reply and please post your plans when you can.

I outlined my ideas for the mounts pretty well in this post:

As for the tranny itself the b16a trannies have to be used with the auto b16a ecu. The integra tranny needs to be used with an integra TCM (tranny control module) that is seperate from the ecu. I'm not sure if you can use an intega tranny on a b16a motor with a b16a ecu and the TCM wired in. I've never tried it. In general the auto b16a trannies make the wiring MUCH easier. I've never seen the auto gsr tranny but I'd assume it uses a TCM also.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.
