Black crap in intake Manifold...?
What is the best way to clean the black crap out of Intake Manifold?
Is there a spray cleaner?
Or something like that?
If nothing, is it OK for that black tar stuff to be in there?
Engine,

Thanks in advance....

Where do I get that BG stuff?
Really....where abouts did you live?
I moved up here three years ago, for school... Georgian College.
90% of the cars here have large wings, and windshield washer lights....
I get really bored up here!
I go to the Track outside of Toronto.
Tell me about your car.

I took my intake manifold off the car, and used liberal amounts of carb cleaner and a wire brush drill attachment, with a flex attachment to get further down as well.
The tar will come back, you can thank the EGR valve for that.

get Seafoam from O'reilly's. have the car at idle(up to temp) and use a vacuum line off the intake. use alittle bit(read can), then shut the car off and let soak of about 15 min then start the car again and use alittle more and let idle. Warning LOTS of smoke use in open area! Or pay to have the BG/MotorVac done.
you can block the EGR, just don't disconnect it ;o)...so long as the valve lifts, it won't CEL. Anyhow,........I use throttle body cleaner or any other harsh petroleum based cleaner to clean manifolds at the shop, works good especially with a toothbrush or similar rough abrasive device ;o)

HUH??????? what on earth did you just say? we speak english on this board not ebonics. but anyways...
i had to clean out my buddies intake manifold on his mercury sable. i used a bottle of STP degreaser, water hose, and a toothbrush. here's the steps
1. took off manifold
2. sprayed the inside down with degreaser
3 let it sit for about 5 minutes,
4. hosed it out
5. repeated steps 2-4 4 more times.
6. then blew it out with a leaf blower and let it sit under the sun in the driveway for about 15 minutes
it came out pretty clean.
