Default Question About Exhaust??

I recently won an exhaust system from ebay or we can just say the muffler part. Well in any case the auction said 88-91 honda civic exhaust. When i showed my uncle he said i would end up paying alot of money to get it on because of the way the honda civic mufflers where made that year. So they will haf to mod the whole thing to put it on. Anyone can tell me how hes wrong cause he's gotta be, he's a mustang man what he no about a honda civic

heres the exhaust >>

just take it to a muffler shop and they will take care of it no problem, it has to be welded on which is comon and you might as well run some new piping while your at it

Your uncle has no clue what he is talking about, bring it to a muffler shop and put it on, this is not hard.

his uncle is talking about the stock muffler. theyll have to remove that and weld in a new piece of piping and also make a cut to shorten the end of his oem piping so the muffler he just bought wont stick out a foot, then they have to weld on the new muffler. Can be done with 10 bucks of clamps and 10 of piping if you do it yourself

Mine is that exact one, 60 bucks to get it put on at a muffler shop, they had to make the piping from the axle back. Its no big deal. I had to cut off the metal rod that holds the rubber hanger for the stock muffler, but its seriously not a big deal, and it sounds great...not all bumble bee like

you can still tell in that pic that it was put there but its nice nonetheless. anyways, there really is no point in just getting a muffler. if your getting an exhaust get a full exhaust not just a muffler. any decent shop should charge 150-200 for a 2"+ system.
