OK, I got the ALtenator pulled out and tested, it tested perfect , so I figure the battery was bad and not charging , but that dont make the battery light come on, I had the battery tested , it passed , my battery is super good.

Main power wire to ALtenator is good, the plug looks fine it has that electric grease and stuff, the battery connection looks good...... when I start the car the battery light is on and it will stay on ... if I REV past 4,000 it goes off sometimes, I adjusted the belt , and wiggled some wires ..... I believe it is a wire problem but I dont know how to fix that , and where is this Volt regulator box or something ??

Jason thanks , need all the help I can get before I waste money in a shop and have someone else fix it...... I say "If I can PULL the old motor out and drop in a new one" (motor swap) then everything else is easy.

Make sure one of the pins on the connector that plugs into the alternator isn't pushed into the connector or broken. Then check the fat single wire from the alternator to the main fuse box and any links inside. Also check the small wire that is on the positive battery cable. (I can't remember where it goes or comes from, but my '90 had one.)

 

Make sure all your grounds are good, too. Especially from the engine/tranny to the chassis. That's the other side of the charging circuit.
