Pardon my language but SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!

My cams MAY (if I get lucky and the FAA gets its head out of its ***) arrive EARLY Friday morning. My mechanic won't be able to put them in before he leaves at 11am on the Stupid Street Tour.
I've never touched the internals of this sucker... but I'm relatively mechanically inclined.
With a Helms or Genuine Honda Service manual... how hard is it to install cams and cam gears and a timing belt etc?
Anyone with tips for me? Cause I'm trying the best I can to make it to NOPI damnit... but I'm being fought at EVERY STEP.

The FAA is trying secure things for our safety.
I understand 100% increased security... however, what can they do between Today and Saturday? Do they think that 48 hours will magically solve the worlds issues? They already have made the security adjustements... what's left?
Its not that bad. if you have the right tools it should only take 2-3 hours. We were checking on an oil leak on mine we took off the timing belt and camgears and put them back on in about 1.5 hours so i figured a little extra for the cams.Just get prepared before hand.Look in the manuel to see what tools and parts you will need like grease for the cams and such.Have everything ready before you start. It would be beneficial to have a friend and a case of beer.Hope to see you at nopi.
I quit. Im going to NOPI in my womans car, and giving the **** up. I also will be 100% drunk 100% of the time.
Like I am now.
I'm depressed.
that's the way!!!

I have no idea what the profile is... all I know is I told them this:
"I want hella power... and I'd like it to idle at at least 1,100rpm. Period."
I gave them every spec on my motor, and they chose something that would work.
Here's hoping they chose something at least halfway decent.

hehe. "I want HELLA power." I bet they got a big grin on their face when you said that....they will probably have fun making your cams
hehehe, 'hella power' is gonna be a new aggresive re-grind.
good thing to just wait it out and get it done after NOPI
I wouldnt do the camshafts by yourself.. even with a HELMs manual.
You guys meeting up with all the other Preludes out there?

it is very easy to install camshafts on a honda engine. all u have to do is basically take the valve cover off, take off the rocker arm assemblies(leave the bolts so the springs dont push the whole thing appart), take the old cams out and put the new ones in, then put everything back. but that's assuming u have EVERYTHING u need, like cam bearings and misc bolt/gaskets and some other little stuff u might wanna change if ur installing a new cam. and even then i wouldnt race it anytime soon cuz it'll need time to wear in.
I didn't get mine reground. They had a new set of billit cores shipped there and they custom ground them for me.
I gave up on the whole installing them thing...I didn't ahv the energy.
Oh, and HondaPrelude.com had 52 entries, and won best club participation!
