Default Question on VAFC?

I have a dealer looking at buying my 01 ITR. I am taking the vafc off.Ir was tuned with my skunk 2 cams and all. I was just wondering, since it has been tuned and all can I just take it off and reset the ecu and it will be okay? I am leaving the cams in there. Too much trouble to take them out.

Why don't you just leave it in there and let the dealership mess with taking it off?

Remove, repair ECU harness wiring, reset ecu.. you should be fine as long as you didn't butcher anything during the install..

I just dont trust myself. I dont know how to do any of the work. I usually had to go to Jotech in Garland,TX. But they do charge an arm and a leg. But they do good work.

If I were you, I'd post something in the buy/sell/trade forum saying you've got all these parts on your ITR that you want to revert to stock. Chances are (assuming you don't live a million miles away from everyone else) someone will be more than willing to drive to your place, swap their stock itr parts with your aftermarket parts for you, and maybe even throw some cash on top. Hell, if I lived close to you and knew how to do it and had the tools, I'd do it in a second

Although that is a lot of futzing around, and if you're on a cruched time-table that probably wouldn't work

Thats the problem, I live too far from anyone. I live in New Mexico. Not many R's here in this state.
I just talked to the dealership and they said that they cannot buy it at this time, because they dont know of anyone that want an R. Its crazy over here. No one know what a TYPE-R is?

Why not sell your R independantly. I am sure you'd get a lot more for it. Plus someone may even make the drive to your place to get it.

People have items up for sale for MONTHS.

What makes you think your car is any different?

Patience.

Post it other places besides here. Team-integra, itrca, autotrader or whatever, local newspaper..... if you haven't already.

Just be patient. I promise a dealership will not give you $18350. Just post it anywhere you can, like Chris said. Don't forget thepartstrader.com too.

Try cars.com ... some papers put it in there automaticly if you post it in the local classified ads. Just a thought.
