does it have to be 88 or 89 or 90-91 and only si or have to be HF?????? i have heard that the year matters for if the harness fits in. thanks

 

Im pretty sure any 88-91 hf or si harness will work. Just make sure its not a dx.

you need to use the harness that matches the model of your car - the HF and Si harnesses are not the same - the wires in the connector to the chassis harness are in different locations in the connector

 

no... get the exact year... I think the si and the hf are the same.. but 88 is exclusive
89 is different
90-91 is same

I had an 88 hf my buddy had an 89.. they were different plugs.... and wire wires where in different locations.. we learned the hard way

 

ya tahst what i thought...i think i'm just gonna swap teh underdash out for something else. cause finding an 88 hf will be liek needle in hye (sp) stack....maybe i'll just convert i to eg underdash with clsuter an all

 

HF and SI engine harnesses are different. Theres 2 pins where it connects to the cabin harness that are different. If you try to use teh si harness on a hf, you will get a code 15, i know this from experience

 

88 harness is different than the rest, same with the clutch, ecu, etc...
i used the stock 88 harness on many dual cam vtec changeovers, youre asking for a headache if u use any other harness.
