Brake pad question
I've been told that the OEM pads for the front brakes on my 97 EX sedan 4 cyl are ceramic(?). When the previous owner last changed the brakes, I believe she bought cheaper pads from wherever. My question is, if i go to my Honda dealer, will they sell me the actual OEM ceramic (?) pads and do they produce less or lighter dust than the cheapies she had on there? Or, are there others that are ceramic (if that's what the OEM ones were) or whatever that are good and low dust producers? I would prefer to keep the car as stock as possible.
I don't remember what they're made of, but I believe the OEM pads are a composite of some sort. Not too hard or soft.
I've always had the best performance from OEM pads. They come with the proper shims and grease. There are better performing aftermarket pads out there, but the ones I tried sucked. Get the OEM pads unless you know someone who positively had verifiable better performance from another brand at the same or less cost. BTW, I bought my parts on line from places like hparts.com, etc.
