Default best geared tranny?

i have a h22 with a h23 tranny and the tranny has about 140k miles on it and i was wondering what i should do. i dont think this tranny is going to hold out much longer but i just put a stage3 clutch in it. i heard that the f20 tranny was one of the best geared trannies. what do you think i should do?

best gearing relative to what? Thats the question you should ask yourself, best for what scenario? This tranny topic has been covered a lot and you would probably be able to find the answer you are looking for by searching both the prelude forum as well as the accord forum. There are a lot of opinions out there.

yea try some searching...but supposedly the h22 tranny should be the best for the h22 motor.. You want shorter gears so that it pulls through them quicker not long gears like the f22

If you want useful answers, throw us a bone. We aren't psychic so you have to explain what you want to do with the car. Taking it roadracing, or drag racing, or to the tractor pull competition will mean completely different answers...
