Default Full-Race anodized FMIC and piping

This is an example of our anodized "backdoor" FMIC and piping

Anodizing is adding a layer of alumina to the surface of the part. The advantage of anodizing is that it increases the “active area” of the surface due to its porosity. This greater surface area results in higher emissivity in the infrared range and better convection. Normal oxidized aluminum has an emissivity of ~ 0.12 and anodized aluminum has a emissivity of ~ 0.85.

Overall, anodizing your FMIC will give you that “stealth” look and will perform just as well as a normal aluminum FMIC if not better. I should have some real world data in a few weeks when I install one of these on car and do some data logging.

Much better solution than spray-painting black, I love it.

question, how durable is it? obviously a little wear and tear to the finish is going to incurr due to the tight fit nature of our turbo setups (not to mention motor rocking, whel hop etc..). will the pipes take the abuse without scratching?

it should be pretty durable. the alumina is electrochemically adhered to te aluminum....so its on there also, anodizing is harder and more abrasion resistant than paint.

if its like other anodized stuff it should be really durable...anodizing makes a pretty damn hard surface..im sure it will scratch like anything else when scraped with something sharp but its not gonna crack or peel like with paint.
