autronic
I am interested in running Autronic. I had planned on running a F.A.S.T. system. Can anyone give me some advantages that the Autronic has over the F.A.S.T.?
How much is the Autronic with a wideband?
Would the SM2 and wideband cover me for an all motor car?
Do I use the Honda sensors?
Does anyone make a plug n play harness for a Honda?
How user friendly is the software?
Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

Features:
* Simply remove stock harness and install U/P PnP harness
* Reduces installation time tremendously
* U/P will ship your ecu with a base map loaded
* Supplied modified distributor
Applications:
* 91-92 Toyota MR2
* 93-95 Toyota MR2 - Coming soon!
* OBD-I Honda (92-95 Civic & 94-95 Integra)
* 88-91 Civic and 90-91 Integra - Coming soon!</TD></TR></TABLE>
I cannot vouch for these parts... just what I found around. http://www.upgradeperformance.net/autronic.html I've never been a big fan of plug-n-play, since I do so many mods anyway.

I don't have a features listing for FAST, so I can't do a side by side comparison.
Autronic is the official engine controls of Team Race101.
Our all-motor cars run the SMC, while the quicker turbo cars run SM2.
Autronic systems all come universal so you can run it on different #cylinders, any type injectors, different trigger setups, etc.
You'll be using the stock TPS, and if you like the stock cam/crank triggers, CLT. It comes with the air temp sensor. You can hook up to stock O2 or wideband.
All the models will trigger True Sequential injection, and can do sequential Ignition too
All the current models come with the Autotune feature.
They also come with Onboard Datalogging
The SMC and SM2 both have boost controling abilities, N2O/VTEC control, ~16 different RevLimiter types. The SM2 has more outputs and options, like traction control (don't get this confused), more boost/antilag control, etc.
Either will work well on all-motor street or full race cars. The 3d Fuel and Ignition tables are high resolution, with fully adjustable breakpoints.
For an all-motor race car, we run without a MAP sensor. We also have the "FlatShift" option (although with our trannies, we don't even use it to powershift).
I'm still using the DOS Autronic software. But the Windows version is nice. With so many controls, it might sound scary, but the software has been very easy to learn. Free software ad updates.
Price for a SMC should generally be less than the FAST. Depending on options, I think the SM2 even comes in less.
Remember, price isn't the only consideration... VALUE is the key. What are you getting for what you are paying. Both are High quality systems, reliable, powerful, and PROVEN winners! You should look at both systems to see which ones have the features you want/need.
I really like the onboard datalogging (we log EVERY pass and dyno run) We use this feature soooooo much to gather data, and we just can't afford the weight of a laptop in the car on a run.
Support is a BIG part too. We've got lots of people using these two systems on this board. Autronic's support system is very good. And if you're running a Honda, VW, Nissan, Toyota.. there are lots of other users to get setup and tuning tips from.
Well, either system has great potential for you. Good luck with either!

Nate, pretty much nailed it on the head. We just got this up and running yesterday if you have any questions on any EFI.

We also run SM2 on Mike Laskey's CRX and on my street car.

There is certainly more bang for your buck in the Autronic unit.....Alot more features....BUT w/o proper experience youll end up upside down in all the features kinda like the AEM....The FAST system is very quick to learn and very easy to start up, yet it doesnt have alot of features the Autronic unit has that I'd wish at times we had! The new Autronic unit thats getting ready to come out is badass!

I found the SM2 to be super easy to get up and running. The whole time I was
reading the manual I kept saying to myself, it can't be this easy. I had a pretty
good tune in about a hour, (not counting the 2 days figureing out the bad FPR!!).
