All-Motor Streetcar Shootout...Lets do this.
dates/locations that would be fair for all:
6/5 - 6/6 NDRA Cordova Dragway Park, Cordova, IL
7/10 - 7/11 NDRA Bristol Motor Speedway, Bristol, TN
7/24/ - 7/25 NDRA Gateway Intl Raceway, St. Louis, MO
10/9 - 10/10 NDRA Houston Motorsports Park, Baytown, TX
10/16 - 10/17 NDRA World Finals Dallas Motorplex, Ennis, TX
rules for the street classes are found at the NDRA web site. these are best for the "cali" guys cause NDRA allows fuel cells now.

I'm in for any of those locations...and will be bringing a few cars with.
PS: If NDRA allows cells next year I'll be rockin one
They shouldn't tho...homos.
Cali Guys, time to sack up...
PSS: I vote for St Louis, Middle of the Country and Middle of the Season...
Also has a nice track and is close to sea level.

I would love to run my slow *** car against anybody. It would be cool just to see who would actually show up. All motor street cars represent, Yo!

Cordova is a pretty loose track as far as rules. Thats where I usually go. They have a bunch of test & tune days that are only $15 for racing from 11-5. There are also some midnight mayhem nights from 12am to 4am.
I say we make it
1. All Motor
2. One class for slicks, one for street tires
Thats it, anything else goes.

same for us guys on the east coast, but we've gotta meet towards the middle of the country for this thing to be fair.
otherwise, its not worth doing!

I don't mean to be Pessimistic about this, but I doubt a NATIONWIDE shootout can happen with a big turnout. ya there might be a couple people that can go, but if NOT 1 of the top EAST COAST Sport FWD cars could even get to the NHRA FINALS here in the West Coast last month, what will make it that handfuls of people show up at a HT ALL MOTOR shootout.
If something is going to happen, it will be at one of the EAST coast tracks and it will consist mostly of EAST COAST racers.

im an east coast based racer. im am going to be at certain east coast events anyway. i would of course prefer this event take place here. but i realize that if we are going to call this a nationwide shootout we have to have it in the midwest. so far an NDRA race makes the most sense. Once we do some brainstorming in this thread im going to start an official poll. personally i think we out to keep it out of texas b/c its always raining out the events down there.
Additionally!!! I have an idea, to create a registration for all racers who plan to participate and submit an additional SMALL fee (5-10bucks, depending on # of particpants) for the design of a very nice trophy and possible cash purse. we'll worry about that when we get closer.

Get ahold of the guys at dsmcentral.com. They rented the Cordova track out for a Sunday and made it an import day this year. I'm pretty sure they are looking to do it again. They would know all the costs involved. I think it was less than $2500. It was ok, but we needed a lot more cars to be really good.

13.0 @107-2.1 60'.
Learned to launch better since then-got a 1.722 60' at our local 1/8 mile track.
I expect mid-high 12's. It would be fun just to run at this event, if it happens. I would really like to see a good turn out-it would make it worth the trek

iono i guess to make it a real street class, those who decide to take the trek to the shootout cant run with fuel cells. i think the rules that jinx made up should be the official rules even if itll be under ndra.

We can have Javier (d1320don) setup something for Englishtown if this falls through and we wanna simply keep it on the East Coast.
I also told Javier to consider a points races for the ISS events for next season. The larger 8 qualifying field in most classes was a success !!!

Exactly. Someone make the executive decision here and just make it St. Louis. I don't give a **** where it is...if its at an NDRA event then I will be there.
And why are people trying to come up with rules and renting a track and ****? NDRA has the rules, they provide the track, they provide the class.
If you Cali guys can't save up $500 between now and mid summer to make an event in the middle of the country then I don't know what to say.

Everyone wanted the sport fwd cars from the east to show up to cali, but nobody wanted to help pay...
I want to come out west, but I have a 9 to 5, and a 94 toyota 4 runner that probaly wont make it past the rockies, maybe next year will be different, but both coasts have to compromise to make this happen

* like the old school east vs west thing that clutch masters had a hand in.
