Oh man.....I've been driving 454 around with no horn for over three months cause I was lazy as hell. Finally got off my *** to do it today.
With the help of Sackdz and Yoshi I got that bitch meeping again. I'm so happy I think I'm going to go for a drive and honk at random people
It was really hard to let people know they're too close when you don't have a horn. But now it's all good.
That damn shoe horn is a life saver! Thanks for the help guys. If anyone in the bay area needs help with theirs PM me.
Now all I need to do is change to some horns with more *****. BMW and Ferrari horns sound sweet.

The part # is 35259-SH3-A02 and I'm damn glad it works. I couldn't really figure it out until I took off the plastic piece that has the turn signal lever and the window washer lever on it. There are three screws behind that white disk that rotates behind the hub.

Copper pipe clamps from home depot work very well, $0.99 for a bag of 10.

If you know what you are looking for the install should take less than 45 mins. That's with the soldering time.
The guy at the parts department gave me the shoe horn for free!

This is the thread I got most of the steps from.

1. Remove steering wheel and hub from car
2. Also have SRS unit and plugs removed
3. take out white disk from the column. It rotates behind the hub. Behind the disk will be grease, so either don't touch the back or wear gloves.
4. Remove three screws behind the disk.
5. Remove the large plastic piece that has the headlight lever and window washer lever on it. It will slide forward with very little force.
6. Look on underside of the unit you just removed. On the bottem left below the headlight lever is a female spade connector.
7. This is where the shoe horn comes in. The picture can be seen on the link provided. Plug the shoe horns connector into the female spade connector.
8. Now put the lever unit back in its place. Do not screw it back in yet. Also do not plug in the plugs on the left yet. Notice how the end of the shoe horn is bending up to contact the back of the wheel.
9. Get about 1-1.5 feet of 14-16 guage wire. Put it through the back of the larger plug on the left side. It is a big white plug. The link will show you exactly where to put it through.
10. Locate a black and yellow plug under the steering column. It will have a black rubber sleeve and will contain a blue wire with silver dots. Take a razor blade and take off some of the wire covering. Shave off an area a couple inches away from the plug. You will need to remove just enough so that you can solder the other end of your wire to it. Cover the exposed wire and solder with electrical tape.
11. Put all the plugs back into the lever unit.
12. Screw the lever unit in. 3 screws
13. Put white disk back in.
14. Put momo hub onto the column. Make sure the brass shoe horn is contacting the brass ring on the back of the hub. If it doesn't contact, then bend the copper horn toward yourself and then put the hub back on.
15. Put 19mm bolt back onto the column. Make sure the top arrow is pointing up. It won't line up perfect.
15. Put the metal ring with the wire connected to it behind the steering wheel horn area. Connect that wire through the horn area onto the connector on the back of the horn button that sticks upward. It is the one that does not have a piece of metal going into the center of the button.
16. The white wire connects to the other connector on the back of the wheel. Give the horn a honk to make sure it works. the steering wheel has to be touching the hub for it to honk. With the wires connected and the wheel not on the hub it will make no noise.
17. If your car is meeping, then put everything back together.

i'm glad I actually did this.. I was under the impression this was a momo race wheel, not the JDM OEM momo wheel. I was worried mine was not going to work all of a sudden, when I get the rest of the car together..

This works for all non airbag momo wheels. Race or OEM as long as it has the brass ring on the back of the hub.
I used the above instructions and had to modify a couple things for it to work with my race wheel, but the process is the same for the jdm non srs or jdm sir-g wheel.

That's what I was getting at.. I thought that the brass ring on the hub adapter took care of the horn issue..? It looked like the back of the OEM wheel I pulled off..

Except that when you take out the OEM wheel, you have to unplug the blue horn button when you remove the srs reel. And you need to ground the hub, which is why you need the shoe horn or some piece of metal connecting the female spade connector and the back of the hub.
ah.. so I WILL have to do this for my horn button to work.. hmm.. I may have some more questions for you later..
thanks!

thanks!
