Default Socketing an ECU for hondata

Whats up guys, I had a question regarding getting an ECU socketed for hondata.. What is all involved?...to be honest, i have no clue or idea about what socketing the ecu is. All i know is that in order to run hondata, you have to get your ecu socketed for it. I tried doing a search but came up with very marginal info. Any pics or explantions would be very helpful. I was originally planning to use Emanage...but for some reason..i decided to just go with hondata. I thought i knew what socketing the ECU was...but i think i need a further explanation so that i can fully understand.

You have to add a socket in place of the main chip, and do a couple other things. Not sure what else.

Cost me $50 to have hondata do it.

Worth it I would say.
