Default Oil Change?

Got the oil changed today (i always use synthetic). When i drove it after i noticed a faint burn smell from the engine so i checked oil level and everything seems to be normal. i know oil buring had been discussed and what not but i never smelt anything after previous oil changes.

is this a problem resulting from just having the oil changed or is this something i need to get the shop to look into?

thanks H-T

If there aren't any puddles and your oil level is cool no problem.

99% chance it was a little spilt oil burning off of your header.

Next time change it yourself and you won't have to worry about it

Most likely just a little oil spilled on the header or block like Chris93Si said<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Chris93Si &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Next time change it yourself and you won't have to worry about it </TD></TR></TABLE>
When i do it myself, i only get oil all over the back of the block...and myself.

Haha same here, I usually ruin at least one item of clothing each time I change the oil

damn people reply fast...i appreciate it

i assumed it wasnt anything major because ITR's and DOHC engines burn a little oil. i think that it smelt like it did for all the reasons you say...plus i did a little spirited , 8400rpm driving on my favorite desolate road

thanks again H-T
