Crane/Ferrea roller followers
Has anyone used or heard anything about these? They sure look nice! http://www.cranecams.com/import/hvteccomps.htm
I can't help but notice that they say you can't use these with stock cams, I was wondering if they are alright to use with Skunk2 stage2's?

They are using completly different rocker arms which is where most of the vtec system is.. As far as the vtec pins locking and unlocking the rockers..

there isnt supposed to be locking pins for vtec the rollers are made to eliminate vtec (basically vtec engaged all the time) thats why u use "vtec killer" roller cams with these....and there mirroring hondas design how?

I've never seen one out there if they do.. Would cut down on alot of drag in the valvetrain though..

well dont the zc and ls have those "ball joint" type rockers?..i would imagine they arent as safe or stable at 9000 rpm and up then the "shaft" vtec rockers..oh well maybe im wrong?
Not sure what you mean by ball-joint.. I was refering to the fact that they turn you b series head into a dohc non-vtec like the ZC head but flows alot better then the ZC head.. I wonder how crappy the idle would be with this setup..

sorry i wasnt more clear...what i ment is u see how the rockers in a ls or zc head basically are secure by the rocker just sitting on a ball joint and the cam lobe as to the vtec rockers are secure with a shaft.

its very lopey!
its very lopey!
There are a few other post on this board asking the same question and nobody seems to know anything of them. Too expensive of an upgrade I guess.
From what I understand they kinda work off the same principal as todas vtec killer camshaft kit. EXCEPT the cranes ride on the vtec lobe while to todas ride on the primaries.
If you looking to lose weight. Spoon made/makes a lightweight follower kit for the b-series. But like most spoon parts they are pretty much warmed over stock pieces that are a little lighter, maby stonger and cost mucho $,$$$.$$.
