i m really confused. i got 2 questions:

1. what does a stock 98-01 type r lip look like? does it wrap around the grill, or just goes across the bottom of it.

2. what's the difference between the factory lip and the aftermarket ( comptech) lip? pics anyone?

Either way I think a splitter will look stupid..... especially when it gets all cracked up.

Get the lip, and leave it at that.

isnt that the 97 and earlier integra ( the black one). i dun think that lip will fit a 99 integra. sum dude was selling a 98+ lip for integra, but he said it doesnt wrap around the grill area like the yellow one in the pic. so wut exactly is he referring to?

 

that 94-97 black integra has an ITR cf lip , thats an itr lip too

 

The yellow one is 98+ Itr lip, the black teg is 94-97 Itr lip

And yes the 94-97 wont fit a 99, but thats why they make a 98+ one

 

they both look nice , im am in the middle of doing a98 frontend cnvo , ( just bumper and lights) and will prob get an itr lip , if it doesnt sit too low , very nice cars up there

 

I still like the 94-97 better...call me crazy, now I need to upgrade myself and get a lip already.

Splitter?

 

The paperthin piece of carbon fiber that hangs below your front lip, connected by metal bars / wire something.

More than likely for his purpose (since he said looks) this piece will be non-functional.

Even if it is functional, itll look like *** over time being daily driven. Its far too fragile for day to day driving.

I think the Comptech lip and the ITR lips are the same thing. atleast if not the exact same product, the Comptech is a copy of the ITR... and umm Wings West makes Comptech's lips...

are you sure he was selling a 98+ "ITR" lip... all 98+ ITR lips wrap around the grill area like you described.

 

I cannot tell the difference between that comptech lip and my ITR lip. they look the same to me but I am sure there is some subtle difference that a TRUE enthusiast will be able to point out.

i believe the Comptech lip is made of urathane and the ITR lip is made of ABS plastic.....

Actually i believe the actual "honda" type R lip is also make ur urethane. The side skirts and rear valances of the OEM kit are made of plastic. One difference that you can tell is that the OEM lip has honda stamped on the inside and has the pegs that let you bold the lip to the bottom of the car, i'm not sure if the comptech one comes with the pegs. Much more secure IMO.

Just look at the thickness of the material. My comptech lip does not hug the front bumper as tight as oem ones if you look at it up close. Take a pic of where it touches the front bumper around the side and I'll tell you if it's oem or not.

can this fit a 95 or does it have to be 98 + (stupid question ) and what color is it?

 

it will only fit a 98-01 bumper.
cw = championship white

actually i've seen two people put 98+ lips on a 94-97 bumper. So it's possible u just need to work it on there somehow

 

I can't see how it can be put on and not look like a home depot diy lip.
