Default Engine mounting for right hand drive vehicles

Sorry for the off topic,
I just bought a car here in Japan, a Toyota Vitz, a nice little family car.
Being the curious one, I opened up the hood and looked around the engine bay. This is my first right hand drive car and I noticed that engine was mounted with the intake manifold towards the front of the car and the exhaust was towards the rear of the car.
Is this due to the right hand drive?
