i sent my girlfriend to the store this morning and when she gets back. she asks me if there has always been a dent in the drivers side rear door of my car. i said no. i went outside and my rear door is PUSHED in. im so pissed.it looks like a hit and run. its too big to be kicked in. is it worth it to call my insurance?

unfortunatly i dont have full coverage. i think it happened last night . she said that when she left the parking lot the same cars were still parked next to her. i went out and looked at it again .the part of the body right before the tire well and right in front of the door that parts all bent too . i was hoping i could just replace the door but no its really shitty.
I dont know if insurance is different in the US then in Canada, but I got my rear quarter panel dented in by some loser, I called the insuance company and it was covered because it was an act of vandalism, which falls under comprehensive damage, so I had to pay my deductable, but it didnt raise my rates.
So if the price of the repair is anymore then your deductable I say use insurance.

Full coverage is worth the money for sure. Hope you get it fixed.

I'd go to a bodyshop and get an estimate. If it's not going to be too expensive to fix, I'd pay for it out of pocket (depending on how much money you have). If you make too many little claims, your insurance will go up. I try to pay for most of the little stuff out of my pocket - if it's under $300, I'll pay for it. If over, I'll talk to the insurance company.
Good luck!

That's exactly how I look at it. I was a victim of a hit and run, they damaged my rear fender in front of the pass side wheel. $600 to fix (collision = hit by a car, comprehensive = hit by anything else). Needless to say, it sucks paying the $500 deductible.

you're a dick

I wonder how many people here would stop and admit that they smashed someone's car to the point of insurance involvement. I know when my roommate backed into a parked Neon in his rental Z71 Silverado (lifted that bitch off the ground by the time he realized that it was there) he went from the most boy-next-door, meek and moral American into a chicken-**** coward who floored it out of there.
I made him go back and call the police. Many people, even people involved in this thread, wouldn't go back/admit they did anything wrong.
Insurance are ******* anyhow, so just hope that you serendipitously find a way around the problem.
