how's the new accord? (03/04)
I'm thinking about getting a new Accord Sedan. If anyone has one can you tell me what you think of it? Also i would like to know about how both the engines perform, since I'm thinking about getting the 2.4 with the manual. Any aftermarket potential for this car?
yea i would like to know too how well they perform and if they have aftermarket backing with parts. i know the 03/04 accord is the new inspire thats the v6 sedan in japan. but i'll let you know too, me and my wife to be are looking into getting that sedan in white. btw the coupe may look better but you can't make the coupe look like this. well not the back and sides at least
I'll weigh in on the 7th generation Accord. I had a 5th generation that was put to rest at 180K thanks to an accident.
The changes that Honda has made have been great! I have a EX-V6, I went determined to grab a manual too. Once I got the V6 out on the highway I told my friend who was selling it to me, no thank you on that 4 banger. That car is just to big for 160HP to motor. (And I took the 4 cylinder out first, an auto and manual) My paps has a 2003 E-Class and he comments on how this Accord is quiter and as smooth riding as his Benz. He had a 94 Accord too at one time too.
Good luck with whichever one you purchase. Mine's at 30K already and still purring.

I went to the dealership today and test drove the 2.4... it wasn't bad... the reason I want the sedan is I need a bigger car because of my new job.. i thought it was decent... how is the v6? a lot faster? I should have test driven that one also but it would really be pushing my budget limits...
can you believe the ******* dealership offered me $1500 for my integra? It was insulting.

anyway, i am a technician for honda dealership...anyways i work on v6's alot the v6 are fast, not like the old 5th genth v6 accord.....these are better engineer and have a lot more power.......if you have the money i would go w/ the manual v6 6spd.....because i see some 03 accord auto tranny gone bad already.....oh well........

We've got one - '03 LX 4-cyl 5-spd. I never expected the engine to be super powerful, that wasn't the goal for us. But it's no slouch - I was surprised how nice it was.
The brakes were really grabby at first, they're finally getting a little more normal at 3600 miles. Maybe the EX all-disk setup is better?
Something about the position of the shift lever feels awkward to me. I'm not the main driver so I still haven't gotten used to it.

I have a 03 4 door ex 2.4 and could'nt be any more satisfied. And as a Honda technician I would say eigther the 4cyl or the 6cyl are a good choice. I have also seen a handfull of the new v6 tranny's come in, but its going to happen. I chose the 4cyl because of fuel economy and my wife did'nt need the v6, also all v6's are built here, even the Inspires are built here and I wanted one built in Japan, in my research the Japan built Accord has less tsb's and service bullitens, thats just my opinion. So all I did is told my sales manager get a black on tan leather 4 door with a JHM vin#. Good luck.

I just bought the 4 door V6 sedan with the automatic tranny. It fits me and my wife. I used to like manuals, but wouldn't have one anymore. Nor would I have a 2 door. I had a 2000 LX 4 door 4 banger. I liked it, but I like the v6 even more. I don't think that you can go wrong with either motor in the Accord. I have spent a little time in our new Accord and I it feels and looks like a much more expensive automobile. I wan't convinced until I actually got in the Accord. The test drive really convinced me. I hope this helps you.
By the way, a fellow that I know was trading his Mercedes SUV today at the dealership for a new Pilot. I drove my daughters 2003 Mercedes 1,000 miles last winter and I don't think they have much on the Hondas. At least not for 2 1/2-3 times the cost.
