Default Overheating problems

I just got my rex back not too long ago. I just dropped in a 93 gsr motor into my 89 rex. My watertemp gauge reaches to the top once in awhile when im at the stop light and goes back down after i start driving again. When im driving on the freeway or highway its fine, but when im in traffic in the hot heat, the motor gets very hot. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Should i get a bigger fan?

I know exactly- There is a sending unit on your head that is right below the distrubitor, about the with of a dime. 10mm I think. That sensor tells your fans to kick on/off pending the temp of the water in your head/motor. Also to solve your problem instantly you should be able to turn on your AC and your fans kick on any way instantly cooling the h20, between your ac and thermostat you should be cool. Other than that to help the issue get a lower deg. thermostat.
