Default Would you ever pay 5grand for a bonestock eg hatch?

Just wondering what you guys think,

prolly wont do this, cuz I dont have that kinda money,
but theres some dealership asking like 5700 for a bonestock
harvard blue eg hatch,

think is.. its FRIGIN MINT, paint looks brand new, and according to them its orignal, even the engine bay is squeaky clean, paint is deep and glossy everywhere, not a single ding.
and its harvard blue too.
dx 5spd hatch. 85k miles(yes this is important to me, I'm trying to find a perfect hatch, and want to see the odometer roll over 100k MYSELF).

I figure haggling could drop the price down to 5, MAYBE 4700.

just wondering,
would any of you guys do it?
keeping in mind what I said before about the miles.

also, i'm not all that interested in hearing from ppl in bumfuck kentucky, where
old grannys sell mint hatches for 1grand all the time, haha.
come out to the bay area!!

ANYWAYS, your thoughts are appreciated.

oh, also theres a local guy selling
a harvard blue hatch, under 100k,
for 3700(obo), only thing is the paint is shitted.
hood has thoroughly oxidized paint, and other oxidized spots here and there on the body,
also the usual little nics n scratches,
no actual dents tho.
could paint just the exterior and it'd be mint
... but paint costs like 2g's

if the hatch with the oxidized paint has a clean title and interior, that would be my choice.

5000+ lota money but its like that in the bay.

My neighbor was selling a 93 cx with 60k original miles, exellent inside and out with a clean title for 4000. I thought it was overpriced and that they wouldn't sell it at that price. it was sold in 4 days for 4800.

I paid over $6000 for a stock EH3 two years ago, and it was worth it. Use http://www.Edmunds.com to get a feel for prices. Kelly's bluebook is scam.

unfortunately the world recognized kbb,
and not edmunds.

but yeah, 5k is gnarly..
but.. I think.. it already sold!!!!!

heres an example why maybe, heh.

oh well, theres still the one with fuct paint,
hes asking 3700.. but i'd probably need the whole damn thing resprayed,
which would be like 2g's if I wanted a good job. so that makes 5700.
I can try to offer him lower though.

There a stock 92 VX out in TX with 67K miles on it and no motor work done, its bone stock but has racing seats a a redone interior (not show interior). Its that light greenish blue color notsure theexact color and he want like 4G's for it. I would pay for that but i dont know about that one from the dealer.

You'd be AMAZED what that 3 stage mcguiars crap can fix... my brothers' sentra had NEVER been waxed... EVER... 10 years later the hood was practically white (it's a black car)... He was going to give it to my cousin for his 16th... so he payed 100 bucks to get it waxed... it still looked like crap...

I had to borrow it for a week or so, So I decided to se the rest of my 3 stage on his car and see what it could do (my paint was already pretty mint when I got the 3 stage system so it didn't seem to do much on mine)...

All I have to say is HOLY CRAP... the car looked BRAND NEW... asside from actually damage to the paint like chips and scratches... it was like a brand new car...

it took damn near forever but it was sick when it was done... wish I had taken b4 and after pics...

And even if that stuff won't do it you could have it machine buffed by a professional place and end up with a brand new looking paint job too... my buddy used to machine polish cars with like 7 different products before he was done... it was amazing... I saw an 80's mustang go from a faded maroon color to BRIGHT vibrant red...

I'd say go for the paint shot one... you can get it for less claiming you'll have to paint it... and you probobly won't actually have to.

too much.. but it depends on how you look at it.. If you're mor interested in a car thats been pampered and you know has been taken care of well then it might be worth it to pay a little more

The prices of hatches period are getting ridiculous! (sp)? I can't wait until all the Honda hype dies down then I can finally have my project EG hatch. All these Honda nutswingers keep driving the prices of shitbox economy cars through the roof. For now I'll stick w/ my EM1. Thank You very much.

5k for a hatch is way too much regarless what it has.
UNLESS the guy has a very nice engine in it.

Over priced, but if that's the car, it looks damn nice. I'd have trouble paying anymore than $4500 for a mint Si model.
