ex auto harness in a man swap car???
Ok im droppin a b20vtec into my coupe(ek96) and Im getting a ex harness instead of my dx one to make **** go smooter. Now my question is, can I just use a automatic harness and leave the connectors I dont need unpluged and since my ecu is man the connections dont exist and therefore wont throw a CEL or will this just not work at all?
you could but you'll just end up with unused plugs taht will confuse you...plus you'll need to splice more connections from the b series harness....just get a manual one and save some trouble
Just bringin this back cause I'm kinda curious myself. I have 5 engine harnesses lying around and some are auto and the others manual. Besides have leftover plugs, is the wiring to the dizzy and everything the same? Any pinouts I have to change? This is just for the engine harness, I am still retaining my factory chassis harness
The auto harness will work. Yes the pinouts are the same, the only thing is auto harnesses have a lil bit of extra wiring which a manual ECU will not look for.
Any pinout the manual ECU doesn't look for that the auto harness has for a wire will be dead -- so you can burn it, leave it there, or use it for nawss.
Get the point?
