Default to keep it or not!!!

ok guys on my 96 civic i got a b18c5 motor w/ a factory civic ex exhaust (cat and all the piping) now im going to dc header and im gonna stick w/ the 2.25 collecter insted of geting the jdm version. Ok now you think the regular civic catalytic converter will be way to restriictive, is an integra type r one better. lastly you guys recommen a 4-1 or 4-2-1 header???

I would get the jdm version catalytic converter since you have a bigger engine in your car so flows better. I would get 4-1 headers for high end

Well first of all ALL USDM headers are 2" collectors. I would not run anything smaller then 2.5" collecotor on this motor or at a minium atleast get the JDM 4-1 or DC JDM 4-1. Get a Carsound #94006 catalytic converter and a good freeflowing exhaust like KTeller 2.5" piping and good muffler.

This is why:

Stock vs Aftermarket

uhh my usmd type r header is def not a 2inch collector and the stock civic cat has 2.25 inlets and out lets but anyway. If i wwere to get the header w/ the 2.25 collector and high flow cat would that good. The only reason i dont want to a get 2.5in collcetor header (jdm style) is b/c ill need a 2.5in cat, so then when i get a cat back it will be ment for a civic so then it wont hook upp right

Aftermarket USDM headers. I.E. DC Sports, GReddy, APEXi (non-JDM) etc... are all 2" ID collectors. 2nd I would not run a stock cat on that motor. 3rd when you get a 2.5" cat or any cat or any test pipe for that matter you get it fit to made. So you buy the header, buy the exhaust install and make the cat accordingly. There are Pre-Made ones, i.e. companys that already know the mesaurements you need. If you want to waste a swap, by all means be my guest.
