Got a rattle..help ID
like it says i have this rattle in my car i think its my exhaust r somethinng. It happens when i let off the gas to slow down and around 2300rpm there is this rattle best way i can describe it is its almost like the sound when your gonna stall. kinda sounds like it is comming from under the car on the passanger side from what i can tell is it possible for your exhaust or header bolts to rattle loose
I'm not sure about the about-to-stall rattle. I do have the 2300-3000 rpm rattle though as well as most other 94-01 owners. First check ur cat heat shield then check the heatshield right below ur shifter that goes over your exhaust pipe. If it's not those then it's either your header heatshield or the header itself. The stock header has an inner tube which comes loose and rattles around, I think that's what I have because I've taken off every heatshield except the lower header one.
Check your cat heat sheild...mine is a mess and rattles like crazy, i can't wait for my high flow cat to get here...and my HASPORT motor mounts aren't helping any lol.

They are talking about the heatsheild above ur exhaust. Just have a friend tap the gas for you get under the car and see where it is coming from.

it's most likely the one either on your cat or the one below your shifter going over the exhaust pipe. either way, they are both easy to take off and cause no harm. acura even ok'd me to remove both. just dont park over dry leaves
do you have a stock GSR catback? do u have stock sway bars , lca ?
i have the exact same problem as u (same noise also) but i found out what it was for me it was my RS-R piping hitting my Rear Sway bar...

The noise that you hear is caused by your stock exhaust manifold. It is a problem with all 3rd gen integras. Nothing you can do will stop it except replace your stock manifold with an aftermarket header.
The noise is caused by a factory flaw with the design of the stock manifold. After a couple thousand miles it starts. The way the exhaust is traveling out of your stock manifold is creating a rattle in your cat. (short explanation) Just buy a header the noise will be gone.

i dont have a stock header like i said i my previous posts i jacked up my car today and kind of messed with some bolts none feel loose at all. listening to it more its not like a rattle that sounds metallic but more of a vibration kind of thing i dont no how to describe it but revvin to 23-2500 you can tell it i wish i had a way to jack it up higher to look at evything. would it be a bad cat i havent heard of a cat goin out at 105k b4.
but the thing is it doesnt sound like a metallic rattle its not a metal hitting metal thing its mroe like a vibration i guess i checked all the bolts yesterday and none were loose
yea the sound is the air coming out... i had some rev it, and the air was like choking out the exhaust, making that rattle type of noise. I guess heat shield or manifold.

yea i did it yesterday that was why i was saying it cant be a heat shield because it doesnt sound like a metallic rattle no metal to metal sound comming from anywhere

I'm having this problem as well...i believe it's coming from eitehr the cat heat shield or the exhaust pipe shield cuz that's where i hear it from. Isn't it possible just to use a screwdriver and bend the sheilds back?

i had the same problem, i changed everything exhaust, cat, but it was my header all along. so i wasted some money cuz it was buggin the crap out of mi. so i would go for the header first.
I have the same exact problem and I also made a thread about it like 2 weeks ago , I checked the heatshield underneath my cat and tore it off. ( 3 of the 4 bolts were already off and 4 one was rusty). After this i have the problem and i am thinking about checking my exhaust shield which goes underneath the shifter.
