I was going to get a S2k then I found a good deal on the 98 ITR with 20k miles.. But I was at the track this weekend with my 91 teg (220hp) that is set up for road racing... Anyway my friend who is in a instructor took his students s2k with 32k miles and 205/40/17 R1's in front and 235/40/17 R1's in rear. ...the rest of the car was stock... My friend Jay is a very good driver, he has 20+ years of road racing. He was going as fast as I was going around the track maybe even a second faster 1:03-1:04... and this car was all stock.. The shocks were being slightly overloaded during hard corners due to the grip of the R1's.... My observation of the S2k is that it is extremely a tight car!!! I now am convienced that no matter what i do to my 91 integra or the 98 ITR I was going to buy,,,,,, that I can get those 2 cars to be as tight as the S2k is.. I have a 00Si and it feels very tight but the S2k is a amazing track car that loves to be pushed hard... I now realized how awsome the S2000 is!!!

s2k=very fun road course car. just watch out for off-camber stuff....70 mph spinouts are scary. there are reports, however, that some tracks (VIR) have banned s2k's until an approved rollbar/cage is developed.

 

The car is jumpy on the track with the R1's but still sticks like a bastard.... As for the roll bar there was a JDM cusco installed in the car....

 

hey, could you get some info on that rollbar for me? it was my understanding that none have been approved by nasa, scca, etc. i would get a rollbar tomorrow if i knew of one that was well-designed, tested and approved.

those are full cages, for which installation requires some pretty heavy dash modification = bad for resale. they're cool looking tho.

i want a rollBAR = less interior cutting, less obtrusive for daily driving, etc. the trick is to find one that is not totally ugly, can be used with the softtop, and provides enough protection to get approval from the sanctioning powers that be. none on the market so far. (the cusco is not approved...i checked)

 

Well I finally have some of those "sanctioning powers that be" willing to take a look at the Cusco's legality IF somebody can find me some pics of it!

Did you SEE the power of the S2K.... S2K is the very2 fast car(strong car) personally I don't thing your 'stang' can even beat the S2K, eventhough is S2K let you start first for about 3 sec...
