Just asking for opinions here, yes the front end looks awesome but there's so much more you can do for the $$. i have a stock 98 itr would you do the front end or some suspension/bolt-ons?

If it makes you happy enough that you can overlook the thousands of $$ you spent on a non-performance mod, then it's worth it.

The only way i would ever see myself getting a JDM front is if i was hit and it did enough damage that i would pay or a JDM front.
For the money i would thinknk you would be more happy with bolt ons and suspension.

Yeah, I got my JDM front end almost completely paid for by the accident. I would not drop $3000 or so just for the front end. I'd MUCH rather drop that under the hood...

If your car is stock, then hold off on it. The only time I would get a JDM front is to replace a wrecked front end, or if it was one of the final modifications to the car

Wait until you get hit. If you pay for it out of pocket and leave yourself broke, you'll regret it. The only reason I could see anyone buying the jdm front out of pocket is if they have a lot of money to throw around. But if that was the case, might as well get a better car.

those that think the JDM ITR front end conv is rice...

can't afford it..

the "bombZ" kit is rice.. Black widow kit is rice... NOT the JDM ITR front.

i wouldnt drop that much on a exterior mod..... just too much money. I agree with everyone else that you should only do it if your involved in a front end collision

Yeah I don't know how the definition of rice got distorted. But my view of rice would be doing a jdm conversion and then putting some kind of black widow fiberglass front on it.

Having a good looking OEM front can never be rice. Well that's just my opinion. I think you guys are not using the term correctly.

And yeah you do see a lot of cars on HT with JDM front, but do you really see that many in real life?

I live in an area that is full of all kinds of imports. Rarely do I see another jdm front end on the streets. Actually now that I think about it...in all the time I've had my car, I've seen maybe four different ones. Yellow one with mugen front and cf hood, white one (Tim), a black gsr, and some LS at school who also has the mugen front.

I've seen plenty more rare cars than jdm fronts. I have seen three Mercie Lago's (probably a mis-spell), I have seen at least 7 or 8 360 Modena's. You get the point. I see these exotics more than I see jdm front integras.

Uh, no. IMO whether something is ricey or not depends on intent. If it's an accident replacement or a good deal or whatever then no, it's not rice. If someone does it to compliment his bling ride then yeah, it's totally rice.

You could put the same air splitter/wheels/wing on a race car as a rice car. Just because the race car has them doesn't make it rice, and just because the rice car has them doesn't make it race ready.

Ahhhh....now I see what you guys mean. So you guys are saying buying something just for bling purposes is rice. OK I guess I can agree with that.

Well...in that case....hate to break it to you, but about 98% of the people on this board are therefore rice.

Even if my car were in a minor frontal shunt, I would replace my front end with USDM parts. I don't want to lose or modify my front bumper support, and I do not approve of using headlamps with an RHD beam pattern on public roads. Cosmetically, I think Integras look like cheap, Japanese cars regardless of which front clip they wear.

Many here define any mod that doesn't increase performance or make the car better in an objective way is rice.

You could always use the jdm front with the usdm bumper support. And the beam pattern really isn't that bad. I don't know why everyone says it's so horrible when it is barely noticeable once you point it down a tad.

It will not hit people in the eyes. Even with the left side slightly higher than the right, by about one inch when shining on a wall.

And the pattern will put more light on the ground than any retrofit, or aftermarket HID.

But if they are not the OEM HID that is a different story. I'd rather have the stock beam pattern than the jdm non-hid beam pattern.

Everyone seems to imply that enhancing the appearance of your car is rice. You can only do it if you have an accident or something? If you have the money what's the problem? I bet when you see a car with a JDM front on the street you take a second look and say to yourself it looks pretty cool. Not wonder if he paid for it or got into an accident.

It may be true the 98% of the people on this board are bling/rice, but most definately not 98% of the people in this forum!
