Default my engine died twice before I found out I was more than quart low on oil. What damage should I look

It seems to be up and running find now, but I know I caused some damange. It died twice once, after hitting a bump and again after a hard pull.

i was running bone dry before i realized that i had no fresh oil. i'd check the piston rings, they might be burnt out.

The only real way to tell for now is to rip apart your block? Are you getting knock? If it was bad it could have gone as far as to scoring your pistons as well.

I thought only cats get "da mange" -- j/k...

Low oil doesn't usually cause the engine to stall, unless it's seized, and you usually know when that happens...
